Skunked!
Well, poor Xena got skunked tonight. In the back yard. Now the whole house smells of skunk. I think we might not be able to get to sleep tonight! I have never smelled anything like it. Nothing like the smell left in the yard when a skunk goes through it. This makes your eyes water. And it's too late at night to go to the store for Febreze!

I hope you're back to normal by now. I hit a skunk with my car once, when I was in college. Fortunately I was able to leave the car in a parking lot on the other side of campus for several days, but it was still not fun.
There's still the occasional wiff of skunk, especially from the fur on the top of Xena's head. But yes, we are mostly back to normal. The first two or three days were the worst. I think the most disheartening thing was when I put my glasses back on after having had a massage, I could smell skunk on my glasses! I couldn't smell it when I put them on at home because - well - I was surrounded by skunk smell already. I washed them and, voila!
