This goes to show how philosophical a book _The Phantom Tollbooth_ is. Of course there are important practical reasons to go from one place to another. On a more philosophical or spiritual level (and "important" automatically places the discussion on a philosophical level), how do you know where you are if you don't know where you started and what you did to get from one to another?
Partly I was disappointed that there were not comments to such a thought-provoking question.
There were a couple of comments on the Facebook version, Dean. I appreciate yours. Thank you.
I think often I only know where I started when I'm well on the way, and the further on a go, the more I find the start may have been even earlier. And where I think I'm going may not be the end.
I posted this because for me this is all the more reason I want to make sure I remember to notice what's on the way once in awhile. Not just smelling the roses, but notice the other stuff as well, the good, the bad and the ugly.
